Been a while since I have been on here.
But needing to build a new barn or shelter as I need more storage, and prices have gone up so much.

Thinking of putting a contianer shelter in, a torto one, seems to be way more bang for your buck. I know that the canopy is only semi permanent, but it just seems to suit much better what I need than a pole barn, and the sheds I would like are way out of my price range.
Once the canopy wears out I can always get another one, or even build a more permanent roof between the containers.
I also like the fact that it can be moved if I need it to be in the future.

Has anyone got one of these, good bad meah?

Yeah, the price of metal & everything else is ridiculously high.

2 x 20' container and shelter was what I have in mind, like this

but my digger or tractor won't be able to move the container if I change my mind or plan in the future

So I opted for this, last year, similar to a container shelter but it sits on the ground

I'm pretty happy with it, does what it should,
cost a fraction of a shed, I can park lots of gears inside and it took me a few days to set it up (with help).
Despite recent bad weather and cyclone, it still stands.

bmt, do you think that would be resistant to mild rubbing from cattle? We're looking at more storage space too, since we're accumulating a lot more implements and only have a small tractor shed.

Don't ask me, it was on its side when I got here.

Thanks bmt, but I also want the lock up part of the container shelters, hope to make my decision by the end of the week, but I need a shelter that I can drive my car and float through (parking it in it hitched up and ready to go) and for hay storage, and lock up storage for all my "stuff" that I seem to collect

Hi Hertz, Sorry late reply, EOF, things abit crazy.
Tent fabric is really tough & stronger.
I don't think cattle mild rubbing is an issue.
How long will they last, that i don't know.
You could always fence off the side for peace of mind.

Well it looks like I will not be getting one of these shelters, though it would give me twice as much storage at the alternative pole barn, Insurers are not keen on insuring them. I have not found one that will as yet.
So a custom pole barn looks like it will do the job
