Just been planning a few cabbages to see how well everything grows in this soil and the next day they were gone!
I knew there is alot of huge slugs around here and forgotten about putting down slug bait so tried again with no luck, only to find a couple of leaf fragments remaining!
Could it be rabbits? im not sure what else it might be, we have plenty of possums and have seen the odd rabbit or hare around.
Might need to build some sort of fence around it I'm thinking.
A night vision camera would be useful.
Wrekas ??? When we started a vege garden we had to bury bird netting about 30 cm underground and up the fence to stop rabbits burrowing in. Even then the wrekas found a way in .
I built 4 mobile raised beds, about 1200 x 1200, which I can move about with tractor pallet forks. This took care of the rabbits, but I also had to build a "cage" on them as well to keep birds out. Everything's hungry in the country!
