Paddock mates was created by iSor
It’s three months since my other donkey died and I was of two minds as to whether to get another donkey as a paddock mate, but having watched her with the cattle lately and how she’s always hanging around with them, it’s nice to see that she’s actually made friends.

Animals can be very surprising sometimes. A few days ago, one of our steers was busily washing our semi-wild goat. This is the same goat that usually terrorizes the cattle especially when she wants their hay, and has also taken on the bull at different times and sent him packing.

Did you know, that what you thought I said, was not what I meant :S

It’s the same sort of appeasement behaviour shown by our steers, because the donkey showed them that she was boss right at the beginning and will give them the “ears back” warning when they invade too much of her personal space, which did happen after I took the photo.
