That's interesting its only the rams.Perhaps the ewe lines have come through the F1/F5 process?These desert type breeds have in their homeland never experienced BP challenge due to their nomadic type herding.The same problem has arisen in temperate regions over here with damaras and dorpers .The other thing which could contribute is how narrow is the stud gene pool?

the gene pool is quite varied, the two rams from two mothers imported from australia but crossed with NZ Damara.
My neighbour called up yesterday, they had a sheep down and suspected barbers pole. They run arapawa and have never drenched but the sheep down was another breed, given to them by another neighbour. They have had her over 12 months and she has a lamb as well, so not entirely new to the flock.
When I was replenishing my drench at the vets he said you not be drenching more frequently than every 6 weeks for Genesis Ultra and longer if possible
