RMP for eggs was created by Denneaux
Hi everyone. I was wondering if anyone on here has been through the RMP process for selling eggs commercially? Is it onerous? Expensive?

I've had a look at the template for the application and it looks fairly straightforward.

I was hoping RMP meant Recommended Minimum Price, because I can't quite decide on a figure.

Haha surely not less than $5. Or maybe $6 per doz, then if you sell a half dozen you don't have to deal with little coins...

Thanks. We were selling at $5, but I figure we're paying more for our eggs than the people who buy our surplus, so want to put it up.

Free range selling for $6+ down here, I charge $5 if the purchaser brings their own carton, otherwise it's $5.60 (have to pass on the costs somehow. I doubt though that that price covers the cost of feed.

As for RMP, no never been there, but if you stay under 100 hens, you don't need to register as far as I understand it, nor have council permits. You can sell at the gate.
You might come into a grey area selling commercially however. You could ring FRENZ. They might be able to help.

Did you know, that what you thought I said, was not what I meant :S
