Hi PHI, Have you considered a walk behind flail mower/ mulcher? We use one between our truffle trees as it is relatively light when compared to a 4 wheel tractor or a quad bike. It gives us really short mulched up grass and in spring we then use it to rotavate strips around the trees to keep the weeds down. Just a thought.

It will not mulch them , just throw them out the back, I have tried.

I had a look at Metalcraft and fieldcraft who both have good options. I prefer the mulching of the metalcraft unit, The one from field looks like more of a large lawnmower.

My farm is too big so I need a tractor. I mow the home paddock with a husqvarna ez4824 which is an awesome mulcher mower, quick as, but it does not like slopes at all.

the tow behinds are about $3-5k, quite an investment, the local dealers will bring one out for a trial, best again on flat land as they bounce a bit.

Small bales. I have a walk behind. It's useless on all these leaves, but thanks for your input.

Mikeand Fi, yep $3-5 K is way out of my range that is why I mentioned 2nd hand but as MUngamutu says they are like hens teeth.
Thankyou both for your help.
Cheers, Phil H.

Hi PHI, Are you talking about a normal mower or a flail?

This link shows you what I mean. Video or copy and paste this address in your browser

The 740 we have and the bladerunner go down to the ground, 6mm, leaving a very fine mulch. I'll try to get some photos posted on our website of it in action.

Hi Phi, Read the thread about posting a photo so here goes. Right that works. Interesting some of the replies about the mowers not working on slopes though. Cheers
