I guess it's dry everywhere[}:)], but we only got 11mm of rain for January, the driest month I have ever recorded, and apparently the second driest on record for Tauranga (they had a bit less rain in town). Am not sure what 11mm is for all of those who still use imperial but I don't think it's even an inch... What did everyone else get?

Without wanting to skite :) we're having a fabulous season! I don't have a number but we've had enough for good grass growth, and none at all this past week while my hay was being made :) The forecast is now saying rain on Monday which if it eventuates will be just perfect.

I hope those of you who need it get some soon.

Edit: Ruth can you really measure to 0.05 of a mm?????? And what is the advantage of doing so?!

7 mms here in NE Waikato. First equal with March 04, but then that March came after a 281mm February, so not really a problem. Really hope we get some of this promised rain next week. Every time I look at Metvuw, they change their minds about where its going to be and how much.

4.2 ml here at Mangatangi in NE Waikato. All on one day just after new year. 15.3 ml for December.

My wife remarked yesterday how much greener the grass is near Pukekohe.

To add to our misery have just discovered that our irrigation supply has stopped. It comes from a neighbouring property as a legal entitlement. Best hop on the phone.

Was feeling smug yesterday as our house tanks are 85% full. That won't stay that way if we have to fill troughs and water gardens from the tanks.

Looking back at my chart, I'm really surprised to find that we had 47ml during January :0

I don't know where it's gone as the ground is really cracking up, and grass is dying flat out!!

Supposed to get a few showers early next week, but I doubt it'll do enough.
