Hi guys,

Does anybody have any recommendations for good and/or cheap water carriers in the Franklin area?
My tank is getting low :(

Thanks!
Phil.

Hi Phil - can't help you with carriers, but a check of the yellow pages will give you a starting point. Just phone them all and ask for a quote. If your council is anything like ours, the water the tankers use comes out of a town supply fire hydrant and contains both fluoride and chlorine, so you may or may not want that mix in your existing tank.
Cheers, Mich.

Don't forget to try your local volunteer fire brigade, some deliver water to raise funds :D

Looks like we're due rain on Monday (according to Metvuw) which is how long it would take to get a water truck out to you anyway...

Water trucks are very busy around here at present. Our house tank is just under half and the farm tank is a bit better than that but cattle an horses are drinking heaps in this hot weather now. OH is going to hook into the neighbour's bore this week, so that will help. Water isn't potable though. It is fairly muddy, but is reliable.

Did you know, that what you thought I said, was not what I meant :S

If you let it sit in a tank for a day or two, then draw off the top it should be easier for the animals Stikkibeek

John's Farmlet Services have been around for years. He emailed a few days ago to say there is a three day wait at present. 0800327653

Some years ago we used Des Thomas of Pukekawa. never had a problem with the water quality, price or person. A decent bloke.

We use Johns Farmlet Services also and find them good, he does all over Sth/ East Ak.
Cheaper to pre pay online via his website.
He has heaps of trucks on the road at the moment and yes we had to wait 3 days this week so don't leave it til the last minute.
Also check where your outlet on the tank is, ours is quite high up, not at the base.
