1 Size (acres) 10

2 Contour (flat, steep, etc) flat

3 Features (bush, river, views) can see the mountains

4 Best things about my block: the euphoria of all this space being ours, still get giddy with the thrill of it

5 Worst things about my block: no boundry hedges yet but working on it, planting lots of natives

6 If I buy another block my ‘must haves’ will be: We're not going anywhere, one house build is enough lol

7 My ‘like to haves’ will be: A BIG shed of course

8 My ‘must not haves’ will be: I wouldn't want to live near a main road but that's about it

Having elders for cordial etc is nice, but when I look every year at flowering time and see more of them spreading through the gullies instead of the natives...There is no such thing as just a few of these things.[}:)]

1 Size (acres): 7 and a bit acres.
2 Contour (flat, steep, etc):Steep!
3 Features (bush, river, views):A few nice trees, lots of sheds, small swampy land down the bottom. Amazing view of the Kaipara Harbour which makes driving out this far on a daily basis/bringing friends around so worthwhile.
4 Best things about my block: The existing sheds/storage areas, concrete driveway for ease of access, small enough to manage..
5 Worst things about my block: Very steep which makes certain things annoying. No existing stock yards. A big pine plantation next door - does stop the wind really effectively though.. But when they flower we get yellow everywhere
6 If I buy another block my ‘must haves’ will be: A bit more land, maybe 15 - 20 acres would be good.
7 My ‘like to haves’ will be: Some flat ground here and there, be a bit closer into town (10 mins or so would be great).
8 My ‘must not haves’ will be: Will get back to this! :D

Growing the LSB one kid/lamb/calf/piglet at a time.. [8D]

1 Size (acres) 18 acres
2 Contour (flat, steep, etc) About 5 acres flat and the rest very steep
3 Features (bush, river, views): Creek, surounded by forest, very serene.
4 Best things about our block: No possums, fully deer fenced, 5 bay implement shed, clean slate to make it our own as has been let go over the last 5 years, the best tyre swing (that I have even tried :)) Closest neighbour a km away, massive concrete swimming pool (13mx6m)...
5 Worst things about my block: bad flooding straight off steep hill behind house but trench is working well, all gardens are just rocky and weed filled, no truck access across driveway bridge, no stock yards, that massive swimming pool needs major repairs! We are on a gravel road.
6 If I buy another block my ‘must haves’ will be: bore or spring, irrigation all done, stock yards or pens, lots of water tanks.
7 My ‘like to haves’ will be: land free of gorse, ragwort etc
8 My ‘must not haves’ will be: Crazy drivers on gravel roads, neighbours too close

[^] Home Is Where The Heart Is! [^]
Betty and Ricky (kune kune piglets), Sprinkles and Strawberry (bunnies) Lulu and Lucy (foxies), Millie (cat), Dora, Deigo, Swiper and Boots (ducks), 9 chicks and 10 Hiefers, Ripples the Ram, Bounce, Cider, Strudel and Sparkler our lambs :) Now in the hunt for a lovely milking goat...

1 Size (acres) 11
2 Contour (flat, steep, etc) gentle rolling.
3 Features (bush, river, views) Bush and coastal views. Wood lot 1 acre.
4 Best thing about our block: Close to native bush, coast and town. Fully deer fenced with internal fencing as we wanted. Neighbours far enough away that we don't need to close curtains, and can wake to the sun rising over the Longwoods while still in bed. Finally getting a race to handle the sheep. Being able to step out the back door for a hunt.
5 Worst things about our block: Southerly winds and sand flies. Trying to keep geese out of the water troughs. Trying to get anything done while the goats skip and play out side the office window.
6 If I buy another block my 'must haves' will be: Why would we want another block?
7 My 'like to haves' will be: A fresh water stream running through the property.
8 My 'must not haves' will be: wet mud.

10 acres in sunny Southland. Husband and 3 boys. 17 Wilties, "Clucky quarters" 2 doz + chooks, rouen clair ducks, Coffee our Irish Terrier and Kaz and Mooch our wee Kitty's. Our Big White Shepherd, Nena. Bennie and Mo the moos

1 Size (acres) Currently 5 but would like 80.
2 Contour (flat, steep, etc) Currently flat but would like a little contour - gently rolling so that we could do heifer grazing and have horses.
3 Features (bush, river, views) Privacy, shelter, views...
4 Best things about my block: I put the shelter belts (read neighbour blocking trees) in early and they're nice and established now. We have a bore which is fabulous for stock, vegetables, flowers and children's water slides all summer long.
5 Worst things about my block: The back neighbours with their shouting and swearing at each other and the west neighbour with their wandering dogs.
6 If I buy another block my ‘must haves’ will be: More land and less neighbours. Reasonable commute to schools/work.
7 My ‘like to haves’ will be: A bore, a house, sheds.
8 My ‘must not haves’ will be: Creeks or drainage issues.
