It is my most hated job! I just made around 40 jars of various preserves for Ag day and I swear it took me as long to get the labels and adhesive off as it did to make the contents. Nightmare.

I use Tea Tree too, after a good soak.
And as with everyone find cheaper brands the worst.
I used to get all the labels off but got lazy more recently and don't always bother, write over the top, and give away the ones that came off easy.

getting them off is one thing, but what do you stick them on with?
If I am giving jars and bottles away I often make a label and print it off, but so far only got as good as a gluestick to glue it on with.

I use a marker pen and write directly on the jar. The writing washes off easily so I don't end up struggling to remove more labels!

If you wet your new label with milk it will stick to the jar for a reasonable amount of time depending upon how it is kept.

I have resorted to masking tape unless I plan to give the produce away.
