I have only ever made the basic- maybe a touch of red wine? :)

Green is spinach/silverbeet puree
Black is squid ink
Brown is cocoa
Orange is carrot/pumpkim puree

When using purees you need to adjust the water content.

Yum YUM Yum :D

The pasta machines I've seen are ONLY for rolling. You have to do the mixing and kneeding yourself. The pasta machine is like a mangle to get the pasta really thin. It also has attachments which cut the pasta into the shape you want, eg fettucine or spaghetti.

I did get one for my husband's birthday or something, and it broke. I took it back and they replaced it, and it broke again in the same way (the handle kept seizing, something wrong with the cogs I think). Must have been a bad design. That's when I gave up.

I would use it to make sheets to use for ravioli or lasagne also.

We went to the Farmers Market in Pitt Street, Seattle a couple of years ago and one of the stall holders had about 100 varieties of pasta (flavours) it was very interesting, and tasty.
But I agree the black is not appealing unless you are Goth LOL.

There is, at least in the US, a machine, similar to a breadmaker, for making pasta. No idea what it is called, tho'.

yep we use a little olive oil as well, vary the amount depending on egg size as that can make a difference to the mix..... make double sized batches and freeze half for next time without processing it into spag, lasagne or fettucine sizes.
