Ooer! Makes you wonder how we've all survived up until now doesn't it, I mean however did we cope before someone decided that our food had to be genetically modified to be good for us....or not as the case may be!

Whatever happened to the days when the only businesses involved in the food chain, were either growing it or selling it?

Now we have allsorts with shareholder responsibility/accountabilities manipulating it for the "greater good".

I cannot help but think this is the downfall of our foods...

I think so too MM, and I look forward to planting out our patch of NZ. Trouble is, property market in NSW is so shot... the house is listed, just waiting for the person with the dollars (as opposed to the dream) to come forward.

nevermind we have a state election tomorrow, perhaps people will get on with their life thereafter....

here's hoping anyhow!

many thanks for your replies!

quote:The study results were published last week in the journal Archives of Environmental Contamination and Toxicology [which advised that] "with the present data, it cannot be concluded that GM corn MON863 is a safe product"

this is not quite the same as saying it's unsafe

No, of course not. Its "sitting on the fence stuff", made to avoid litigation etc.

When I had my stroke in my 30's, all the nurses said, we have sooo many women like you at your age coming through, its the pill.

When I asked my specialist, after numerous tests to determine where my blood clot originated from, and they were unable to determine, is it the Pill (which I had given up three months before) he said, well we think it is, but cannot prove it.
When I asked my GP, she said it appears to be, there are numerous warnings on the packet that it could cause a stroke..... no-one will ever give a firm answer in case of litigation. Only warnings....

No one gives direct answers or claims these days, because of litigation. Its easy to find "someone" to counter any claims or research, scientists have been fighting with each other for years over numerous issues.

But its given an element of doubt. Why "play" and manipulate food in the first place?
