Kate - 6 OT subjects on the first page

Is it time to have a forum or perhaps a chat room for those that wish to communicate, but on topics other than those related to this forum?

no way you can only ask so many questions on farming and where else can you find a site that has so much humour while we have a break from all the lifestyle problems we tend to generate between our selves now im going to have a red

I've been pretty good just lately and got involved with the 'On topic stuff!

I bet phill-k wishes they hadn't started THIS thread now.

I don't have a problem with "off topic" posts some are really interesting, however they do sometimes displace "on topic" posts and these don't get the exposure they should. Most forums operate a special "open" forum for that reason. When Kate increased the number of posts per page that helped, but its obvious some posters have a real connection with other members and this would assist the development of these contacts.

We had another forum, but some didn't play fair and we all got kicked out of the sandbox.[}][)]

Well quite! There's a lovely lot of cow pictures on one particular thread and it seems to have dropped out of sight. I think you just don't care!

I guess part of the problem is that one persons' OT can be anothers' ON T. There have been examples of posts that should (by my definition) have been in the tips or events forums but ended up in YP. Does it really matter? I don't think so. Farming and LSB is such a diverse matter these days that to try and pidgeon hole everything is near impossible.

Sure, I don't read all the jokes but sometimes the mood takes me and I get a chuckle out of them. If I'm not in the mood I just skip them - no problem.

Not everyone want to own or use a firearm but for some of us they are a farm tool. Do we create a special forum for shooters? Not in my view.

I am pretty happy with the way it is and the more the forum is used the better. It is one of the best sources of LSB and small farm info around.
