I would never have thought I could have ever enjoyed listening to opera, but every time I hear certain pieces of music I just bawl my eyes out.
Whilst searching for the Youtube clip I found the one where Phil Potts first appeared on Britain has talent.............wonderful, methinks I shall be buying his album.
I love Russell Watson and Andrea Boccelli or Andrew Brocolli as my dad calls him!

There was this dickhead sitting next to me that kept telling me about his own singing career. I just wanted to listen to the great man sing, not this wally nutting on about himself. The way he was talking he knew Pav personally. I let him rabbit on for a while and asked him where he had sung. "I am a funeral singer and fly to Australia regularly to sing as well as around NZ" said the great big ejit.[xx(]

MM thanks for the heads up re. Paul Potts. As I don't watch TV I had never heard of him before.
The following clip made me cry x 3. What an awesome story and talent. The comments re. bullying and feeling insignificant brought the first two tears. The third tear was the beautiful singing and choice of song "Time to Say Goodbye", a favourite of my late father. He loved this song, loved Pavarotti, and would have loved Paul Potts too. We had this song at my Dad's Requieum Mass too.
IMO, "Nessum Dorma" has got to one of, if not the most emotive and beautiful arias ever written. Everytime I hear Pavarotti sing it it sends shivers through my whole body and, of course, raises the hairs on the back of the neck.
