Does anybody have a pattern by which to crochet a poncho?

A very keen crochet friend of mine wants to crochet one and cannot find a pattern anywhere.

Thanks.

Now I KNOW I have one here somewhere. Will try to hunt it out. I still have my bright green one and must start wearing it again.

Ok, have found a couple. I will photocopy them and look upstairs later on for my other ones. Where do I send them.

Ok Toast. Maybe I can scan and email you the couple I have found so far. I will get in touch tonight.

I have sent you an email but hope your reply comes straight to my computer as I can't actually see your email from sending it from here and need to send those patterns directly from My Documents.

Nothing there Toast. Did you email by 'reply' as my addy on my profile is, as you have probably gathered, made up. Can you email me your details via Kate and she can pass them onto me. I am wondering how many other emails I am not getting. I know a lot of people are still having trouble.

I've just emailed Kate & asked her to send on my email address.

Hope that works.

Thanks Toast. Hopefully this new xtra crap won't bar it or hide it somewhere this time.

I've done the 'old fashioned' treble crochet one.. just a circle of chain for the first round then pop in corners and away you go.. I put in or leave out extra chain stitches between the trebles according to the amount of 'flare' required...

but if you want something slightly more posh.. just crochet two oblongs measuring 50 x 90cm.. start with a chain and then single 'trebles' (is that the right term) onto that to produce a flat piece of crochet.. these get joined - end of one onto the side of the other and then opposite - side of that one onto the end of the other.. (first stitching will make the pieces look like bricks in a herringbone pattern.. if you can understand my strange instructions... )

Toast, I don't know if you watch Emmerdale, but Laurel was wearing a real neat poncho the other day. It was just those crochet granny squares, edged in black and sewn into a poncho. I thought I would love one like that, it was really effective. Might have a go, though my crocheting is a bit crap.

Thanks, Nancy, and also Toni.

Toni has scanned and emailed me two patterns and then sent the photocopies of the patterns.

I have passed on the patterns to my friend and have just printed off additional comments from both of you. I'm sure she will be thrilled. She's mad keen on crochet and does it every night. Has a teenage daughter who is mad keen on wearing all her creations too!

Thanks again, both of you.
