For those Dr Who fans/geeks (there must be a few of you), the series is back on next week, starting Sunday (what a weird day for it!) 19th at 7.30pm on Prime.

Yay! :D Personally I think that this current Dr Who is the best yet.

Yep, I gotta go along with you on that one Tigger. David Tennant does a fine Dr Who. Much better than the one before him.

David Tennant was in 'Bright Young Things' which is one of my favourite movies, he played a cad. There were actually quite a lot of 'new' actors in that movie. It was directed by Stephen Fry.

Peter Davidson wasn't too bad and I liked Tom Baker and Jon Pertwee but David Tennant adds a sort of humour to the character.
Now, if they could just get rid of the ad breaks! The only things they are good for is going to the toilet and making a cup of tea.

Last night seemed to incease in ad breaks the further into the movie they got. And they wonder why children have short attention spans!

David Tennant also played Bartie Crouch's evil son in the Harry Potter movies. He is a great character actor; Christopher Eccleston who played the Dr before him was okay but not as good, he was much better in Cracker (until they killed him off).

I had real reservations about David Tennent, but liked him as soon as he appeared in his dressing gown.

I have cheated and watched half of this series already.

Have you seen Torchwood? I bit sexier than Dr Who, but for grownups rather than kids.

Torchwood rings a bell, I think I remember soomething about the whole building being blown up or something along those lines but I could be blurring images from Dr Who.

Did that have Annette Badland in it? She played an alien in human skin... or was that Dr Who?
Annette Badland was the 'over the road' neighbour Sadie in 'Little Voice' with Jane Horricks.

Torchwood appeared in Dr Who in several episodes. (Queen Victoria started it up after meeting the Dr). But is a spin-off series, with Captain Jack as the lead (he was in the first of the new series of Dr Who).

Is Torchwood coming to NZ TV? I must admit I'm really intrigued. Capt. Jack was rather yummy.

Rumour has it that TVNZ has Torchwood, but haven't announced when they'll screen it. Also look for Sara Jane's Adventures. Coming soon. Or one day.

Just bringing this to the top again - Dr Who tonight!!

Can anyone tell me - wasnt it David Tennant who played the lead in a recent Sunday Theater about a guy who was hit by a car and ended up with a bad brain injury ?? It was about his recovery, the effect it had on his family and how people perceived him - I usually dont watch these type of shows as they can be depressing.

If it was him he played a bloody good part and I was thoroughly engrossed at how well he played the part as I have seen the effects of brain injuries on people and their families.

He's also an Excellent Dr Who! He plays the part with such humour and charisma. I reckon we're going to be seeing a lot more of David Tennant. He's very talented.
