How does the small arrow on your computer monitor work when we move the mouse?

The Japanese have finally revealed a mystery for you. Now, through the miracle of high technology, we can see how it is done. With the aid of a screen magnifying lens, the mechanism becomes apparent.

This takes a while to load. Once loaded, hover your mouse pointer over the grey circle in the center of the screen, click and double click to see how that works.
