Mozilla Thunderbird

This e-mail thingy is on my lads computer, he doesnt really send we-mails so he's never set it up properyl.

When I've tried to send an e-mail a window pops up
I need to put in my outgoing sever and incoming server.

Well as you can guess it might as well be talking Swahili to me

What do I put in these boxes oh great and gifted ones???

Well....it's probably the pop3 and smtp server they want and in my humble experience they are:
Incoming: pop3. and then the isp you use so pop3.xtra.co.nz or pop3.wave.co.nz
Outgoing: smtp. and then the isp you use so smtp.xtra.co.nz or smtp.wave.co.nz

Try that and see what happens

Thanks for that Kate, I'm currently downloading about 40 odd e-mails that I've had to store in my xtra webmail...on number 22 now! Only been here an age!!

Just off to look at wireless broadband!

One hour later and we are downloading #44.....39%

Aarrrrgghhhh!

It's possible that some of those emails were spam (and large ones at that). Before you download all your mail it is worth logging on to webmail (if your ISP has it) and deleting the spam, so that all that is left are 'real' messages. Alternatively, if your ISP supports it, use IMAP instead of POP.

Thats where my e-mail has been stuck for ages ame. I always go there first anyway, then I can block or report as SPAM any unwanted mail.

All those e-mails were genuine! Popular ain't I????? lol
