The Cure are here 14 August - Vector Arena, they only just announced it a week or so ago, I know there has been a big petition circulating for them to include NZ in their Australasian leg, but it's all very short notice.

They were last here nearly 15 years ago...

We have tickets for the Cure also.[8D] We were dead luck to get pre-sale tickets right up the front downstairs. I have waited nearly 30 years to see Robert Smith and the boys, can't wait. We are also seeing Ryan (NOT Bryan) Adams on 16 August. Two nights out in one week (or month, year!) unheard of for us with young children.[:0]

Sorry not a fan of the Police, can't stand Sting's voice or their music.[V]

Ardnas, perhaps we should carpool! :D We have tickets in the same area, we also got the internet presales. I think all that is left now are the upper levels of the arena, not having been to events there before it's hard to know where best area is, but general admission to the lower levels is pretty hard to beat! :D

I would have loved to have gotten the general admission (standing) tickets and get myself in the moshpit[8D], but I will be approx. 24 weeks pregnant at the time of the concert (and soon to be 40), so not such a good idea. Therefore we have opted for seats.

It would be neat to carpool but we are taking our 4 & 3 year and 10 month old boys with us to be babysat by family in Auckland while we are at the concert, so our car will be at maximum capcity. :(We will also be staying in Auckland because we have the Ryan Adams concert two nights later on the 16th and will use the in between time to catch up with friends/family etc.

Am so excited! We have friends coming from around the country esp. for the concert. One friend who recently returned from the UK and now lives in Dunedin, I haven't seen for 16 years!

We are going with quite a group of friends and the plan is to go fancy dress, ie. to dress up goth. Should be a laugh.

If you go to www.thecure.com and look for the Auckland concert details you will see that there are several fans wanting to organise either pre/post concert drinks for the out of towners.:)

So no pogo-ing then! :D Yes, was wondering if I should hunt down my black eye liner, have an awesome wig that would work but it would be too darn hot, even in winter! [}:)] So I'll just be a goth on the inside ;).

Yeah, I was wondering how hot it might get in there. Hubby said he would do the goth hair and eyeliner thing[:0]. Although he is very salt n pepper these days. Said he might dye his hair back to it's old natural black because it is such an occasion[:0]:D. He has seen the Cure live in the early 80s when he was down south at Uni. Me, I have waited nearly 30 years for this event.:D

Off subject, but still music. Just found this. Haven't thought about it for years. It is such a feel good song.:D

Cool! We're going to The Cure too. :D

Of course as exciting as that will be, it still doesn't compare to the suspense of waiting for James Blunt's new album (All The Lost Souls) due for release on the 17th of September. :p His new single was released today & I haven't heard it yet (apart from a dodgy live version).
