I just discovered that google maps has a new feature. Street view. I just toured San Francisco from my computer desk. It gives a view of the streets and the ability to pan and turn 360 degrees. You can find an address, then actually see the building. I had fun. Now I am on my way to Las Vegas.

It is like google earth but better. You are at street level looking at the buildings and passing cars and people. If you see a sign you want to read, you can zoom in on it. Here is the address to see if you like it. Just place the little man on any blue street and you can see what the street actually looks like. Have fun.
maps.google.com/maps?tab=wl&ie=UTF-8
This address gets you to a site where you can see a demo or choose to tour market street in SF. Just click on the address on the left side of the page.

sorry I took so long to answer, but we do have a big time difference. When you click on the link, a map of the U.S. will pop up on the right side of the screen. On the very top of this map you will see a box that says "street view new". Click on that. You will now see little cameras appear on different cities. Click on a camera. A new box will appear saying "zoom in on San Francisco". (You can also visit Las Vegas, Denver, Miami, New York. Just click on a different camera) Click on the "zoom in". You will now see a city map with blue streets. You can either double click on any blue street, or put the cursor on the little yellow man and drag him to the street you want to see. A new box will appear overlaying the map and it will be the street view. You can walk the street by clicking on the arrows on the street and you will move up or down the street. If you want to look to see what is around you at any time, click on the arrows in the upper left hand corner. These arrows point downward left and downward right. This allows you to turn completely around to look at your surroundings.
I hope you have fun. I just wish they had the street view of some New Zealand cities.
