I want one of those flying suits.. a couple of guys dropped from helicopters and were able to free fly, wearing bat like clothing... great stuff, Id get the feeding out done so fast, environmentally friendly ( not the chopper bit) and would be such fun..[:0][8D]

Our guys have been so focused on these races. All those other ones that critisced them for not celebrating each win. Look what happened to the ones that did.[^] The kiwis had their minds on the job and it paid off. NOW!!!!!!! to win the next round and bring the cup home.:D:D I love watching the yachting.

It was such fun the last time it was here. We had several trips to the Viaduct Basin and the atmosphere was so good. Took a trip out on the Kawau Kat to watch a race, that was exciting to get so close to the racing and you got a commentary as well.

Plus, all the superyachts that come into the country have got to be good for the ecomony. We actually got a request to take a tame sheep down to one of the superyachts, won't name it though. The owners were having guests that had flown in from the states, were staying in a hotel and going aboard that day. All they wanted was to pat a sheep. We took a bottle fed lamb and a bottle fed goat. They were over the moon to get up close and personal and actually FEED the lambs. And, we were also paid very well out of petty cash that the crew had on hand for such things.:D:D:D We were there for about 45 mins. They originally wanted to put pretend grass on the back deck of this boat and set up a pretend farmyard. I suggested that this wouldn't be a very good idea on their millions of $$$$ worth of boats, so we were on the floating dock, behind the boat. It drew a crowd to to watch. It is funny to think that people in some parts of the world have not been close to animals of any kind and I do enjoy their pleasure in getting to know the animals. I did wish afterwards though that I had asked to use their bathroom so I could have had a quizzy in the boat.[:0][:0][:0][^]

After last time I thought they'd never get the finance together to mount a credible challenge offshore. Very happy to be proved wrong. Hadn't thought of going to an Arab airline for the dosh. I hope Emirates do well out of it.

So when's the first cup race?

Thank goodness i can get a decent night's sleep for a week or so, ...hang-on there's the tennis on too!....My sentiments were the same as yours hilldweller, I'm glad to be eating humble pie. Emirates are getting excellent advertising for their investment. They came out near the top as an airline in a survey last week too.

The wall to wall sport doesn't stop there. The Tour de France starts at the end of the month and goes on for 3 weeks at least.

We don't usually watch TV, but the crazy cyclist I am married to orders in SKY for the month. He does this every year; driving us crazy getting up at ungodly hours etc. to watch the race. Keeps him happy though!

I only watch Yachting and Ten Pin Bowling and the ten pin isn't even on now.:( When I got sky the Living Channel was the best. There is bugger all craft programmes on it now and when I emailed them they said people had requested home renovation programmes. Bull****.

I am also eating as little humble pie, didn't think we would ever have the money to foot it with those big boys from europe, it shows money can't buy you everything. Although, there is still 9 more races till we have it in the bag, but they have a pretty good chance at it. I havn't seen ten pin on sky for a few years now, but it was great when it was. Do you bowl Toni? I used to but gave it away about 8 years ago after it got too expensive travelling and buying the gear.

Yes skyline I do bowl, mostly very badly, but I have been playing in the same social league for around 11 years. We aren't competitive at all, it is purely social. Sometimes I would like to be able to play a serious game, but like you say, it is expensive and the travelling is great.
