Hello all!
Advice needed…
Recently had my chicken poop tested and came back positive to worms & cocci.
It has been 6 long days since he was medicated for both by vet & wondering how long till he improves?
His poops seems to be getting worse each day. He has bit eaten in 4-5 days so have been using hand rearing formular.
I’m saying this. Today he decided to have a bit of a peck at watermelon and tomato! Yay.

Worms may have been responsible for some of the bowel lining sloughing off. How old is this chicken? Coccidiosis can be fatal in very young chicks, although less of a problem in older poultry although they may carry it and pass it on.
I'd just encourage him to keep eating, anything you can tempt him with so some fruit is good and you could try banana, greens like silverbeet, or Swiss chard as others call it, a little bread soaked in a little warm water and with a small amount of honey dissolved in the water. this will perk up his energy and get him started on eating again. Little , frequent offerings, to get him going without overloading him. Did the vet give you any medication to follow up with?

Did you know, that what you thought I said, was not what I meant :S

Thank your for the reply!
He is 6 months old.
He does seem to eat watermelon and only watermelon so I have been injecting it with some of his hand rearing formular so hopefully he is getting some protein.
I have tried everything I can think of!
He will eat anything red….

The vet told me to re medicate him In 10 days time .. except there has been no improvements in his poo- it’s worse.
When I took him to vet his pops were semi ok. I took him to vet as I noticed he was sleeping and not eating / drinking.

Im more worried I have not seen improvements in almost a week? Is this normal progress??

Although today he did have a little bit more interest in being on the grass and in the watermelon… :) I’ll take any small win at the moment!!!

Thank you!
