You are right in a sense, but we may well get more accurate weather forecasts. The frustration we had over the inaccurate weather forecasts during haymaking wer unbelievable and may very well have cost us on our final bale count

Muddling our way through 1Ha on the Christchurch Port Hills, with flocks of heritage chickens, Silver Appleyard ducks, Gotland sheep, and Arapawa goats.

Hmmmm, I'm surprised to hear that this data isn't freely available!
I do know that you can download historical data from the NIWA website from individual weather stations - not much help for immediate forecasting, though!!
