I'm on holiday. For a whole 30 hours! But I have to get back home yet, which may involve the driver of a bus which will probably turn out to be a ten-seater van, who can't stick to his own side of the road. I had a frightening journey to get here and am not looking forward to the ride home. Whatever happened to trustworthy public transport operators?
I know one couple who wanted to put up holiday snaps while overseas, they hired an actor to play the "cousins brother-in-law" and posted pics of the "housesitter" arriving a few hours before they posted the airport departures entrance door... They also borrowed a nephews project car, old 80's ford or holden, and parked that in the drive.
Imagine a big mean and ugly once-were-warriors type wife beater brute.
The real house sitters were the retired couple next door who cleared the mail, turned a few lights on at night and changed how the curtains hung occasionally so a drive past looked like the place was occupied.
An opportunistic empty-house facebook cyberstalker doing a drive past would have been taken in, through not someone prepared to sit there and stake it out to see the old couple go in and out.
Seemed pretty clever to me. for the cost of an actors time to show up for some shots they were able to post pics while on holiday and not worry about casual burglaries.
