My daughter is keen to get a young pair of females that is being given away. We have kept rabbits before and have hutches etc, I'm just wondering about care of long haired bunnies. Can they live outside or do they need to be kept dry? We were told they only need brushing once a week, really? They look to me to be quite high maintenance. I do spin so am tempted by the possible fibre to use. But would we get much from 2 bunnies?
Just wanting to hear others experiences good or bad.
Im pretty sure they do need to live indoors & need shearing every 3 months I think it is.
google angora rabbit waitomo & you should be able to see pics & videos of them....the couple who used to own the shearing shed in waitomo sold up & the rabbits are now shown by roselands restaurant in waitomo
Animals rule our place... cows, calves, sheep, goats, pigs, horses, donkeys, chickens, ducks... the list goes on ...."lifestyle block like" 25 or so acres around the house attached to a rather large farm with dairy drystock & a 600 cow dairy conversion ....1500 acres to call home
Thanks guys, yes we have been doing plenty if googling but there seems as always to be conflicting info.
That rabbit farm must have been where I went as a kid I can remember the fluffy rabbits strapped to a board and shaved then released as a tiny skinny looking thing.
