Inserting photos in emails, what has gone wrong? was created by reggit
...up to about two days ago I was able to insert pictures (high res) from other folders into an email (not attached, but inserted), resize to 15%, and I could create an email with up to about 10 photos included that wasn't bigger than 1MB or so.
Today I am trying to do similar, and it's hitting 74MB for the same size email/number of photos.
What the heck?
I have made no setting changes, but I do remember the laptop turned itself off for an upgrade the other day...wondering if that has done anything to it?
Anyone else had this problem? Office 2013, emailing in Outlook...
So frustrating...[

On Sunday I couldn't insert photos in my blog. Have done nothing different. Must have been the elections running interference

Ended up resizing in Photoshop and then saving 'for web and devices' but a right pain and adds extra work in.
Never mind. I'm starting to accept that technology isn't there to do what we want it to do

In the macro I set dpi at 72 for screen and the width at 640pixels [all within the macro] and set it to save in the folder I select and close the file before I stop the macro. Then all you have to do is run it in batches and the job gets done automatically in a few seconds. If you are really set on doing lots of photos you can write one to execute a whole batch sequence...

Why don't you do what I do with photoshop and write an Action [macro] so that all you need to do is open the photos you want reduced and run the macro? I do that with all my camera photos and just save them back into the same folder in a subfolder called "smaller".reggit;500037 wrote: Good point, eelcat [}
