Ohhhh MY GOD!

If you are a fan of thriller/horror SEE IT!

If you are not .... For the love of God DON'T! [:0]

Seriously good movie but I have to admit I spent a lot of it hiding under my jacket. Nick on the other hand was a lot braver and only looked away at one point. For it's genre it is going to be a classic!

Review over ;)

Awesome Lou! [}:)]

We chanced upon "28 Days Later" (have you seen it?) on late night TV a few months back, it was fantastic - gory and violent, but that was because the basic story matter was fundamentally so violent/gross, I love those stories of 'what if society broke down because of...' - and we were planning to go to "28 weeks later" sometime this week - good to hear it is good and not a disappointment after the first one. I think one of the things that made it good was set in England/English made rather than yehah Yanks! (although it sounds like there are some Yanks in the most recent one?)

Haven't been able to convince any other friends to go though [}:)]

Yes, set in London but does have the US Army and a couple of the key characters are Americans. The family were English with Robert Carlisle as the father (I always enjoy him). It's quite a gore fest but also has something of an arthouse feel without being too pretentious. Good use of camera angle etc. Fairly predictable in some respects but I swear there were scenes where I forgot to breathe I was so busy being horrified, LOL! We screeched with laughter (it wasn't funny - I think that was the fear) after the particularly awful bits too ;) - My DH, who is not really a horror fan, LOVED it!

It's had a good review in Waikato Times today, the reviewer Sam Edwards is usually pretty reliable in his very mixed tastes!

Just came back from the cinema. Had to have a glass of wine to calm down*.

If you like zombie movies (and who doesn't?) then go see this one. Take some sort of rubber ball or something to grip- from the very beginning...

* I had a glass yesterday too, but amazingly I was already calm! I find this is one of the more remarkable things about wine.

Now you all have me intrigued!

Perhaps I'll take Barndweller to grip onto! Mind you having said that he'll be hiding on the floor probably!

Isn't that what your partner is for? [}:)] Any understanding partner would, I am sure, overlook the nailmarks in their arm.

No. In fact she actually wanted to sit one seat away from me, just in case.

A few years back I remember going to a film where this guy literally shrieked at every scary bit, his girlfriend looked like she wanted the floor to open up and swallow her [}:)].

As kids in the 80s when all those tacky horror films were in their heyday (Halloween, Elm St, Friday 13th etc) we'd gather at a friends place in the middle of the afternoon, pull the curtains and watch horror videos til we'd scared outselves silly - and then drive home in broad daylight. We learned to do this after having a few evening video sessions and then being too scared to go out in the dark to our cars!! [:I]

Watching the 2nd Jurassic park movie at a cinema with a large bucket of popcorn, in one scene I jumped so much the popcorn covered everyone in the 4 rows in front....
