Internet Service Providers

Hi everybody. Looking to get internet connection at home and wondering who's got what provider and if they are happy with service, cost, etc. Any recommendations as to who is good or who should be avoided like the plague gratefully received.

I'm with Inspire because when we moved here my FIL was with them and recommended and I must say after 10 years they have been great. However they are local to me and I can walk in anytime I want to either pay a bill or them to fix a problem, the reality is that I pay online and ring them if I have a problem and if all the lines are busy I just leave a message and someone calls me back. They have consistently come in the top 2 or 3 as far as customer service according to Consumer yearly survey. I don't know if they are the cheapest, probably not. We pay $50 per month for 100GB and have always had exceptional service even when I sound really dumb trying to figure something out. I think the employees are all geeks, but nice geeks.

Presently with Slingshot for phone, internet and mobile - was a best price ADSL deal when I got it, but I think some are cheaper now (perhaps Flip, but it's not available at our address yet). Slingshot rang me out of the blue and swapped my mobile plan to a cheaper one after having considered my usage over my first three months with them.. so was pretty impressed with that. They are really quick to respond to email queries (and good at credits and other account queries) but phone support can be long waits .. altho' once you get someone they are really pleasant and very helpful. Don't recall ever losing internet connection and they have really good email spam filters.

I generally leave a service provider because I get fed up over something .. but been with Slingshot for three years now - so they've been very good for all that time.
