Computer woes was created by Stikkibeek
Recently Firefox tried to do an update, which I ignored as i was busy doing something important, and I didn't know if it's coincidental, but since then I have been locked out of my google account so can't access some stuff I want, and am getting this message.
How can I overcome this problem?

Mmm. Tried that. The "aprove" option wasn't there for the login script, so in the end, I cleared the cookies, updated Firefox and now I think I can get in if only I could remember my now lost passwords :)

Grrr .. passwords. No matter how often I try to align them .. something requires a different combo than my 'stock standard' .. so I devised a 'more complex standard' for those fussier sites .. and then one of the sites will require that I change the password .. so I up the various numerals in it by one, and then I can't remember which number series I'm at on a particular site is .. and so on and so forth.

And then there are usernames.

I took to sending myself an email of usernames and passwords for the various sites I'm registered on; and I filed them all away in a folder called Misc .. that helped ..

But I am certain there must be an easier way that people with better logic use!

!

I do that too. Especially ones from work, or those registration numbers that are so important. I email them home too so there is a chance I have a safe copy.
Of course Misc is a wonderful name for something you will never be able to find again on your computer. It sounds like the start of "missing" Ha ha!

that has to be the least secure thing i've heard in a while. why not just write them on post-its and stick them to your screen??

as far as passwords go, if you struggle, get a password manager add-in, choose something alphanumeric and random, like H94gfn1+ (no, that isn't my password) for your logins, and save something like "password" as your master password for the login manager. then it's basically = navigate to website -> type username-> press enter.

cheers

Haha - tried that too. But one post-it was too small, so ended up with multiples of them gracing the monitor and then they lost their glue-i-ness over time.
