Have to share that one with you.

When we've got surplus, I sell our eggs at the local farmers market. We do have quite a bit right now. While observing the punters in a quiet minute, I noticed a young lady opening each and every egg container on my neighbours stall, peeking inside, then putting them back.
She then proceeded to my stall, eying up my egg display. When offered help, she asked if she could have 1/2 dozen eggs - but only "the brown ones".

I could not help myself, I had to ask if there was a particular reason she wanted only the brown eggs.

Her answer made me bite my tongue - hard:

"then I know they really are freerange"

:rolleyes::confused::confused:

Lol, I thought you were going to say she was looking for poop to prove they were free range.

Rather like an article from a paper I have read from vegans. Along these lines .....Please buy your meat from supermarkets so animals do not get killed to produce it.

There are no bad questions only those that are not asked.

A flatmate I had once thought exactly the same thing, and wouldn't eat white eggs because they weren't as healthy. No amount of arguing could convince her otherwise. You wonder how they can reason it out - I suppose they think the brown colour is produced from what the hen eats or something?

So what would they think of green eggs? Grass? Ill? or eggscapees from Dr. Seuss?

Did you know, that what you thought I said, was not what I meant :S

They might think they're extra healthy, with added vitamins and minerals...

I had a greman visitor staying with us, she refused to believe that with newly dug spuds you could just rub the skin off. She told me that she only buys 'new' potatoes in her german supermarket but you always have to peel with a peeler, there for mine were some different breed. I could not make her understand she was being sold older spuds, that they weren't fresh dug. We could of had a big hum dinger over it but with some people its just best to let it go, they are ALWAYS right!

I once was at a loss for words when someone asked why there were no brown duck eggs.

"there just aren't" did not do the trick:(:p

There must be no such thing as a free range duck then :D :D

I remember when I was a kid, a 12 year old girl who lived next door came over to have a look at my rabbit. When I told her the rabbit was pregnant she looked thoughtful for a moment and then said "rabbits lay eggs don't they". :eek:

On an entirely different track, did you know that, as soon as you mill the grain to flour instead of leaving it whole, whole grain bread is not whole grain bread anymore??[:0]
