Getting rid of blood stainson carpet

One of our dear furballs decided to express his displeasure at us leaving him to go away for the weekend by catching his own supper and eating it on the carpet, leaving a blood stain about 5cm across in a very prominent place. I have tried oxyaction carpet cleaner and all it did was change the stain from red to brown.
The carpet is an oatmeal colour, made from wool.

How do I get rid of it?

I use wool detergent as well on carpet stains. However if its a bad one try a little spray of a stain release product first (but test in an inconspicuous place). Ivé used the sard one ok on our oatmeal colour carpet.

The trick is not to rub, but to move your damp cleaning cloth like you are brushing the fibres. Rinse the cloth regularly and then ''brush'' the carpet fibre the other way. Sometimes the stain holds to one side of the fibre and if you are brushing the opposite way, it won't clean up.

thank you, happened to have some in, it worked wonderfully. Cannot now see the stain at all. Now need to remove some older stains I have just found hidden in a corner of a room we seldom use - flamin cats!
