Sounds like the solenoid valve has gone to a better place. This is basically an electricaly operated water tap inside the machine, it's very fixable by a technician. Although it could be other things, but the lack of water is a sign. Possibly only $100 to fix, which is better than shelling out for a whole new machine.

Have you checked the filter on the water pipe. They do get a bit gunged up sometimes . There should be a filter on the pipe where it connects to the tap.

The solenoid valve is not for you to find, it will involve some technical person to remove the beast, and perform surgery to diagnose and remedy the problem. Quite possible to operate and fix on your kitchen floor, if you don't mind the blood (water).

Like wyseyes said, ring a service technician from one of the companies that sell secondhand machines, they're usually cheaper then the factory techs who require the machine to be brought to them rather than goign to the machine. just ask them if they're an authorised repair tech for that brand of machine, if he's not you won't have any insurance cover if the repair blows up, sparks and starts a fire.

Hate it. Very glib and condescending.

You may wish to pay someone to do it because you don't want to do it, but don't think that you can't or shouldn't.

ame I think that wyseyes comment was meant to be very tongue in cheek.

Your comment in another thread " The teaspoon trick sounds like nonsense to me. No way could it work. Oh, look, it doesn't:" could be read the same way!!

Perhaps you're right. But it's hard to tell, what with the government knowing what's best for us, and experts, consultants and professionals trying to make sure we don't think for ourselves.
