Yup, no commission because we are selling privately, and if it is a good offer and all goes through, there'll be no advertising cost either, and no time spent showing lots of people through...[8D]
The valuer was very complimentary and mentioned a range I'd be very happy with!

We'll see though.
No chicken counting allowed, till they hatch and come home to roost.[;)]

Well they have verbally offered what the valuer came back with...which was more than we'd hoped...so we said yes!
All the paperwork still to do, but what a relief!
We feel fairly certain there won't be any issues: we are selling to Housing NZ, so they'll need to do their due diligence, but they won't be scraping around for finance and insurance like most private buyers in Chch.

We once sold a house that wasn't even for sale because the purchasers looked through the one next door that was and didn't like it so sent their agent to find us as they liked the look of ours.

Hawspur, am really pleased for you. My last sale was also based on a letter in the box would I like to sell the day I had put an offer on another place.
It takes so much stress out of selling which they say is up there in the stressors along with divorce!
