Is something not working correctly in LSB load-up? For the last couple of nights, I can reach the home page straight away, but the forum is loading slower than dial-up on strike, and I'm on fast Broadband! Changing between threads is even slower.
Did you know, that what you thought I said, was not what I meant :S
Just wondering guys - and yes I too have had the slowest load directly to Forum in months while being on 14+Mbps - I went in and used Spybot Search and Destroy and found that Google had loaded another two "spy" issues on my computer. I just ditch anything that it indicates is an issue (though not a virus!) and my computer immediately goes so much faster.
Perhaps that is an indicator that you can do your own thing to get rid of all the garbage but I do admit that I too am struggling with LSB even post doing this. Just lessened in connectivity.
Since posting this, it has improved a little, so I don't know what to think now. could be something downloaded, but unless OH has done something, I don't know what it could be. If others are having trouble however, who knows! Coincidence? or other mischief afoot?

Well I have found it is loading a lot quicker now than when this issue was raised and appeared to be solved about a month ago!

Ghostery.com to monitor what is watching me. This website used to only have Google Analytics as a tracker. It now has Google AJAX SearchAPI and Google Adsense. By blocking the last two (using Ghostery) it does speed up the page loads somewhat but still nowhere near as fast as it used to be - virtually instantaneous.

What Windows programs are you using? There was an article in the NZ Herald this morning about the plummet in sales since Windows introduced 8 so could that be the problem? Tigger, if I were you I would be going back to whoever you purchased your machine from and demanding that they put it back to 7. Just be assertive!
The other side of this is that out ISP's are so focused on getting information to Mobile Phones (and that is the new direction) we are missing out on band time? From a PC point of view, mine dies in the afternoon around 4pm when the kids (urban) get home from school. Not for long though thankfully.
