I suspect Andrea means that the powder is in the freezer. Milk powder has fat in it, which goes rancid with air and warmth. If you have any left over after you have fed the baby animals for the year, then put it in the freezer in a plastic container so that it lasts longer.
If you want the milk powder for yourself to drink, then the supermarket is the place to go.
