Kate - wonderful news. Enjoy hopefully with a glass of wine to celebrate!
I have learnt one thing while living in suburbia and that is I am not buying a house without a fireplace. End of story!
Have a wonderful night - where is the big fluffy carpet in front of the fire? [

Yes, we loved the last one so much that we bought another.
No carpet Didi, the house is designed to absorb heat passively so it's tiled throughout.
We still have no internal joinery or toilets but we can shower in here and now enjoy a glass of wine in front of the fire before heading back to the hut to sleep. We think we'll be moving the bed in soon and the rest of our things which have been in storage for months will be arriving next week..
I'm a very lucky woman

Hehe nice pic! Love the fire. Even when it wasn't that cold... I still like it on, it just makes you feel so nice and snuggly, just by looking at it! Love the fire.

I was wondering if you were referring to a fluffy white carpet of the animal kindDiDi;427172 wrote: You missed my wink Kate! Tiles just will not cut it for the winks reason - [

Luck has nothing to do with it. You guys have suffered all manner of horrendous privations en route to this moment, so you have earned every minute of pleasure from your new house. If it was me, I would be chucking a mattress on the floor and camping in your wonderful house. Bugger the hut!Kate;427162 wrote: I'm a very lucky woman

Brings back many memories of living on a 'building site' for years.
The worst is living with an architect [or a builder] its a bit like the bootmakers children who have no shoes.
When we lived in norway the kids dad was out fixing everyone elses houses and we lived in an incomplete building site for years.
Once my one year old locked himself in the toilet, but the lock was only on one side ie the inside and nothing on the outside and no windows.
And then there was the time the roof cracked really loud and we had to get up on it in the middle of the night and shift all the snow - which someone estimated to be about ten ton
Yes renovations and building can have their exciting moments but you look as tho you have the most important part of the building finished kate, well done

LOL moving the bed in wouldn't be an issue but we have no working toilet in the house...and although there is no toilet in the hut either, our outhouse is a lot nearer the hut than the house [

The builders should have finished by the end of next week so we're not far off moving in...
Didi..I'm surprised at you [
