Oh dear, I guess you could surrender her to the SPCA, if she is a nuisance barker that may just prolong the inevitable though.Ash87;420218 wrote: Animal control have only given me 7 days that was last friday. Iv tried dog rescue but as they don't have the room to actually take her in all they can offer is to walk her daily but I'm not allowed to own her any more due to a court order by animal control from barking complaints.

My dog barks at anyone who delivers mail, walks past my house or who comes and goes into my cul de sac (if he's outside) but he's mainly an inside dog and then stops when they have gone.
He doesn't stop if he sees a cat sitting looking at him though.
All the dogs in my cul de sac bark when people come and go and some of them are outside dogs.
Husband, two teenagers, Stanley & Jed the greyhounds, one quail (Hawkefrost), one budgie (Chaos) small productive surburban section.

Ok - I am North Island and you are South Island and maybe AC act differently but I would suggest that the silence on this thread is that we are well aware (at least up here) as to why AC would have an issue with a dog. They work with people up here to sort things out and I have known the local AC arrange to have a bitch speyed before taking her from her owner. Barking is an annoyance and you (up here) would have been directed how to sort this out before giving your dog a 7 day death sentence.
I hate to be the "bull at the gate" on this subject but there has to be more to this than your dog barking at old and young people. Why didn't you ensure she couldn't?
You have to know that I actually find this really hard to write as I am the last person in the world to want to see a dog put down but what have you not explained? Perhaps too late now and cross fingers you have found a really good dog owner to take her on through Trade Me. Seriously!

From reading your post, you have had AC try and help you but it has not worked and you have to understand that regardless of how much you love your dog, you can't let this carry on. Good on you for trying to re home her and maybe AC will be able to as well - they are not the enemy and mostly dog lovers - but if she has not had any training and has reached an age where she is going to be a problem, then maybe they will decide that it has gone to far to stop her behaviour that is causing the problem.
There isn't a person on this site who would question how much you love your dog but she was a bad choice for your circumstances and something that is beyond your control. Let her go whether through TM or AC and learn big time how important it is to do your homework and make the right choice of breed and X.
I am still crossing my fingers that you will find an experienced dog person to give her a chance.
