Now that our tank hole has been dug out, I have Saturday morning free of slave manual labour, anyone wish to join me foraging for blueberries in Ohaupo? Pick your own, $7.50 a kilo - and there is a cafe there too :D

Yes, that's the place, about 9ish? Can beat the heat if it is a scorcher. Our usually full blueberry bush has let us down this year, not enough water, I think...[V]

Got back today. I don't think cruising is for me. Might be the ten metre swells and the 50km winds. Got the tail end of cyclone Gene for three days. It was a lot more than that though - fill you in on Saturday.

Well, that was worth it (apart from me taking a wrong turn and getting lost [:I]) I got 3kg and TKP got 3.8kg, in just over an hour :D

Well done, we got invited to pick blackberries on our neighbours property yesterday, and our apples are just ready, so I have been busy at it this morning and done some bottling and mad pies and apple shortcake for tonight. Yum:D

A few years ago I went mad and made a couple of dozen apple and blueberry pies and froze them, great in winter heated up with icecream. Our apples are almost ready, so may do that again this year.

Must remember to leave space in freezer for Stewie :D

Thats why I bottle them.

Then the filling is all made and ready for the pastry or crumble topping, and no room is taken up in the freezer at all.:)
