Cafe in Ashburton to take elderly mothers to? was created by reggit
I'm at mum's place at the mo, and my friend and I are taking our mums out to Ashburton tomorrow for lunch and a movie (since neither of them want to go to the movies in ChCh at the moment)
Any recommendations from locals of good cafes in the town? NOT Robert Harris or similar, something nice and non-chainstorish...

There's a nice one on the right as you come into town, which is part of the Ashford Village www.ashford.co.nz/newsite/site-pages/ashford-village The cafe is set off to the left as you walk into the 'village'. Some nifty little shops in there, too!

Tigs, have removed the excess "o" in your heading. Did not think cafes to take elderly mothers were far and few between [

It might well make my job easier if I had to convince elderly parents that they needed to go to a cafe as opposed to a rest home!

You're welcome! Haven't ventured to Ashvegas in a while, but I want to get out to a movie, and I'm also too chicken to see one in Chch. Might have to make the drive... and stop at Nosh as well! I don't really care for the chain cafes either. If you're ever headed out to Rangiora, stop in at the Good Street Cafe. NOM.
