Hi Guys...
Just yet another problem to ask about to do with my piggies.....
They have been doing a bit of rooting lately (dammit) so i'm wondering if this is something to do with the rooting, but the smaller of the piggies just within the last 2 days has the whole top part of her nose (on the rim part) has turned bright red and almost see through (if that makes sense) and just wondering if anyone else has had this before, and what if anything, i can do to help if it's something that needs help..... thanks!

My big fella ( Petie the Kune boar) isnt ringed andhas never even tried to root ..
My 2 young girls ( Bundy and Coke) did root big time at round 16 weeks old .. so they are now wearring lovely rings in noses
and havent rooted since
Coke ( Cokie to her friends
) has a few times ripped her nose but it always seems to heal very quickly
Bundy is more careful i think lol
I am guessing its to do with her nose being used as a shovel .. and if she is otherwise happy n healthy n eatting well ( they do that dont they lol ) i would just watch and keep an eye on it .. i doubt it will get any worse ... if it does then take her for a ride in the car to see the vet

Could it be sunburn?

I have thought that! She has more of a pink nose than the other, and it's gone away now.. so if it comes back after it's been super sunny i guess i'll have to look into putting sunscreen on her

Good dollop of zinc cream ought to do the trick..........until she wipes it off in the dirt!
