I agree... why suffer, if bites can be avoided...!!
I tend to hit most bites and stings with pure Lavender or Tea Tree oils, but not everyone can handle that...

Out of curiosity... have you ever tried using the crushed leaves of the Plaintain Herb on mosquito bites?
I havent tried it myself, but will next time the dreaded sandflies bite! It beats me how something so tiny can set up such a reaction!!
Late last year I found the identity of the "weed" I had previously been kicking out of the grass. It was Plantain, which has amazing properties. Opps! Sorry!
Just Googled: plantain herb medicinal properties ... mosquito bites is in the long list of things it helps, including bee stings.

I haven't but this plant has been mentioned on this site in the past as being an amazing plant for animals to eat.. wouldn't be at all surprised it it was good for bites.. I'm deadly allergic to bees so won't be trying it on those stings but will certainly try out plantain on itchy bites in future..
