No seriously, many years of living in norway with snow on the ground for over 6 months of the year. We had 'winter tires' which were compulsory and they had little nails in which gripped the surface. And then a compulsory change over on a certain date, and there would always be more snow and everyone would get stuck. These look good

So now you have to buy Summer tyres as well - assuming your new car has snow tyres? Do some research on NZ conditions and see if you are safe. First rule - don't mix them with any other tyre. Four on for Summer and four off for Winter transition.
