Can you buy this in NZ? Or failing that, has anyone got a plant so I can try and make my own?

Looks promising. I am not after stuff with alcohol etc in it (as the ad mentions it hasn't got). I have been looking in chemists for about 5 years now, never seen it to buy.
thanks

WHen the Herbal Dispensary in Chch was still standing, on Kilmore/Barboadoes corner across from Piko, they had it. I don't know where Herbal Dispensary has moved to, though. Theirs had no alcohol. The stuff at our local chemist has alcohol in it, so I don't but it unless it's all I can find.

Here it's mostly used as an astringent, rubdowns on tight, sore muscles and on rashes (dh is prone to allergic rashes when he's under stress) and bug bites. I use it in the homemade facial toner I've been using for the last 12 years or so, probably more than the other uses.

feedqueen, it is great for getting rid of grease on the skin and preventing acne. It is good for use round the eyes and reducing wrinkles.

Chemist. But it is quite "harsh" - it depends on how oily the skin is. You might be better off getting witchazel/rosewater mix from the chemist... it's good stuff.

I wouldn't trust any "toners" anyways, but yes, if you skin is DRY like mine, you will find witch hazel quite drying... hence why I suggested the rosewater/WH combo.

I use the WH on both me, and my animals at home. Works well.

I make my own toner. But I tend to have oily skin not dry, maybe that makes a difference? I use calendula 'tea' which I make myself from our calendula and rain water, witch hazel, and essential oils of rose, grapefruit seed, lavender and teatree.
