That was a few years ago but worth checking with them, we are looking at using them again for our new place.
As far as toilets go, check out Mitre 10 Mega and Placemakers, we have seen some good deals in both

a bog is a bog as far as I am concerned, hard to go wrong with them!
Sorry to disagree tigger, but after having worked in a large plumbing specific shop, I would advise caution with buying the cheapest bog. Cheapest purchase price can equate to most expensive plumbing costs to have installed.
Swaggie, we used to recommend folk talk to their plumber before buying anything. Get advice from the professionals and you can't really go wrong. If you purchase from a place that also does the installation - great as they are obviously happy to install what they sell.
The same goes for taps - lots of cheap imports around, but do they (the sellers) have good after sales service? what is their warranty like? are you happy to have to replace cartridges after only 12 months use?
Like most things, you get what you pay for so a bit of homework can save a lot of grief down the track.
Cheers

I must say, when it comes to loos, I wasn't really that interested and chose the basic one recommended by my plumber. However, in hindsight, I would have bought one that was differently shaped. There's really no delicate way to put this, but it's not that comfy to sit on, no matter how big your behind (or small, I asked some skinny people

For the same price, my Aunt has just chosen a new toilet that's much more comfy and it's sort of more boxy, rather than oval. Gosh it's hard to explain what I mean!
So a loo is not a loo, if you know what I mean

I'll check with hubby which brand of taps our plumber recommended, there is only one or two brands he will use/fit.
PG, my criteria is mainly ease of cleaning, esp the outside of it. Some have all sorts of bumps and nooks for dust etc. Having said that the ones that fit right against the wall to the back may be easy to clean but are also twice the price as the standard sort, which I am not willing to pay.

Hubby is taken with his one downstairs in the laundry which is a mid priced Fowler one (Aussie brand, since changed names).
It looks like we are bringing our taps from Aussie (friends trade account cheaper all round) but its the bigger stuff I want to source at the right price... the showroom nearest to us in NZ is way too expensive (as we found out after fitting out the shed for hot and cold water for kitchen sink and shower).
I knew this would be the place to ask though!

I did my bathrooms through them a number of years ago and have found the support and after service brilliant. Never yet paid full price for anything either. Stocked Englefield then which I chose.
Yes I was, the Other Half is a good haggler as well, but still came away shocked at prices. I went through the showroom and couldn't see any Englefield (after the building renovation a few years ago) all european stuff which is lovely, but not for this build....
Mind you, he was knocked over when he went to buy a tube of silicone at our nearest ITM for $16 per tube or whatever it was at the time, we pay $3 - $4 here..... he is thinking of importing silicone now.

I went to Bunnings down the road from my uncle in Brisbane and picked them up for $23 where as over here in Bunnings they're $60(they must fly them first class to our shores.
