I can't say if it worked or not, my life at that point was in a bit of a whirl but it didn't do any harm.
I think there are easier and quicker ways of cleansing the liver.
Pear Juice, or, carrot juice with a few mls of Beetroot juice in it.
Don't go nuts on the beetroot like I did. I had WAY too much and made myself rather ill for a few hours.
My liver lacks a certain protein needed to help break down fat so I can't take too much cream or fat or especially cream cheese for some reason. I can't take Alcohol either. A bit of a cleanse now and then probably wouldn't go astray.
I was surprised at just how many people have this deficiency and a lot probably have it and don't even know. Well, if you do anything daft like drink too much or eat too much fatty food, you just feel really sick for a while, cream cheese makes me feel sick, really tired and I get a headache. I just thought I was being a whimp when it came to drinking and that my hangover was no worse than anyone elses, I was just being a bit of a sook.
When I was at primary school, many mornings by 10am I was in sick bay feeling sick and they were calling mum. I got a right earful!
I didn't realise until years later that every morning I went to sick bay I had eaten egg whites or farex for breakfast. I could handle the yolk but not the whites and the farex was too rich. I mean BUGGAR! I really liked farex!
It's quite amazing just what kicks back at you if there is the smallest hiccup in your body chemistry.
I don't really mind not being able to drink a lot of alcohol. I can take advantage of those hungover souls the next morning by marching about banging pot lids together and singing "Clang, clang,clang went the trolley" at the top of my lungs. [}
