Just wondering if anyone has tried this? I have just got the book off trade me and beginning to read it. Its written by Dr Sandra Cabbort or something lol. She makes alot of sense. I have brought some of the Liva Tone she suggests and I have to say I am not as tierd. I have flicked through the diets food she suggests, some I could eat, other stuff sounds yuk. I don't eat fish so thats out.
Just wondering if anyone had tried the diet and if so have you felt heaps better through having cleansed the liver??

They use alcohol to clean - in fact to sterilise - medical equipment don't they?

Nope, I tried a liver cleanse a few years ago. It was various drops of stuff in water. Umm.... Black Walnut, Wormwood, clove something-or-other and something else I was sent from the US. It took three months to complete the course and Ooooooh it was NASTY! I got a bit mixed up over the clove stuff and was using clove oil which gave life a whole new perspective. It sort of set fire to my insides all the way down, a bit like whiskey, very warming but oooh a numb mouth for a wee while afterwards.
I can't say if it worked or not, my life at that point was in a bit of a whirl but it didn't do any harm.

I think there are easier and quicker ways of cleansing the liver.

Pear Juice, or, carrot juice with a few mls of Beetroot juice in it.
Don't go nuts on the beetroot like I did. I had WAY too much and made myself rather ill for a few hours.

My liver lacks a certain protein needed to help break down fat so I can't take too much cream or fat or especially cream cheese for some reason. I can't take Alcohol either. A bit of a cleanse now and then probably wouldn't go astray.

I was surprised at just how many people have this deficiency and a lot probably have it and don't even know. Well, if you do anything daft like drink too much or eat too much fatty food, you just feel really sick for a while, cream cheese makes me feel sick, really tired and I get a headache. I just thought I was being a whimp when it came to drinking and that my hangover was no worse than anyone elses, I was just being a bit of a sook.
When I was at primary school, many mornings by 10am I was in sick bay feeling sick and they were calling mum. I got a right earful!

I didn't realise until years later that every morning I went to sick bay I had eaten egg whites or farex for breakfast. I could handle the yolk but not the whites and the farex was too rich. I mean BUGGAR! I really liked farex!

It's quite amazing just what kicks back at you if there is the smallest hiccup in your body chemistry.

I don't really mind not being able to drink a lot of alcohol. I can take advantage of those hungover souls the next morning by marching about banging pot lids together and singing "Clang, clang, clang went the trolley" at the top of my lungs. [}:)]

lol, well back to the topic, I've never done it but mum did it and she never felt better for it. She's gone back to it a couple of times now, and always feels fantastic for it. Just gotta be strict on yourself!!!

I have one called Liver tone plus, its reccomended by the Dr who wrote the liver cleansing diet. I have been taking them for 2 weeks now and I have to admit that I am feeling really good. Its doing something, hubby is taking it to and he said he is feeling better. Its a capsul twice daily. The liver cleansing diet book is a good read, makes alot of sense.
