We have just had a good shower of snow here, would imagine it is nothing compared to down south but we are 20mins north of Wellington and approx 50m above sea level

Wow. Today and yesterday were very pleasant here. Yesterday was very spring like. It got windy at about lunch time here today, but all that did was help dry out the mud. Jersey off for most of yesterday, and for the morning today.

I put a back break up behind the cattle yesterday. By this afternoon, I could see the line where it had been - grass is growing that fast.

Yep, same here as well, Yesterday was a great day, fired the pizza oven up and had pizza for dinner, today was good until about 3.30 then it turned

We are about 7km above sea level in Kahutara area South Wairarapa. Was minus 5 at 7am plus wind chill and plenty snow on ground. Now 0 deg. Local farmer who has been here 40 years said its never happened b4. Poor outside animals all have good dose of snow to cope with and its been funny watching the cats run and jump in it. Been more snow all morning but sun just out so off to take photos.

I can't compete with those photos Glenn-but it was pretty unusual to have snow flakes and sunshine at the same time this morning!
pregnant girls coming up for their baleage, Tararuas behind

It's snowing!

...and by 10am look at the results, as long as it stays up there!

The Tararuas looked pretty chilly when we fed out at 7.30am, but all the babies were bright eyed and bushy tailed with a temperature of 2C.

Ahhhh, not like the good old days. Back in '73 I was in Palmerston North when we had a snowfall that stayed on the ground overnight. Those were the good old days .....
And apart from the hail shower at 3pm yesterday, we've been fine but windy. Nelson has such boring weather !!!!

Well, after the sunshine of this morning, it has turned to a winter wonderland here too!
It's been snowing for about half an hour and is now like this!

I ventured out to check the stock and put out some hay when it started.
Luckily no calves imminent, though now I see from my window, one of the very pregnant 2 yr old heifers is now galloping round the paddock with her tail in the air-playing!
