MySky decoder not working was created by ronnie
I know several folk on here have these things and have had issues with them.
Ours started giving us the "Rain fade" message yesterday afternoon, in the middle of the first game of rugby.
It sort of came and went on a regular basis till about 4pm when it went altogether. Rang their customer services and they were next to useless. Did the reset thing and made no difference.
it came back on around 7.30 and stayed for the first half of the rugby and went again.
Today, we have had a total of a half hour of viewing.
the wee signal light on the bottom of the set is red, meaning no signal I assume.
Any of you had this happen? The box has only been here about 6 weeks. The technician is booked for tomorrow with a warning that if it is not their problem, we will have to pay the technician anyway.
Will be really annoyed if we lose this box as I have a lot of stuff saved on it that we want to watch this week. It won't even let us watch saved stuff - just nothing except the message on the screen about rain fade.

i coulnt change chanel or use planner last week but the reset fixed it. on the old sky box you could just take the lead out of the bcak and pt it back and it fixedit. hope you get t fixed its anoying when you cant use it.

I have had no trouble with rain fade since the new satelite was put up. May be a loose fitting, ....poor installation. I had that problem with my satelite broadband installation. Have always had great service from Sky.

It may be worth ringing Sky back and getting a different "technician" to the one you spoke with. Did they run you through the steps you should take to check everything first?
Bear in mind I don't have Sky and so no idea but treating it the same as if I were to ring my ISP provider and wasn't happy with the support. Have certainly done that and had things sorted by someone different. Just a thought.

we had 2 units replaced, programmes were part recording and then dropping off, went through all the steps over the phone, total waste of time, the 3rd tec to call fixed it. we told them that because they were not providing the service that they said they would, we wanted something done about a refund, which they did. just keep complaining

Technician just been. Nothing wrong with decoder - thank goodness. Signal strength was way down so he adjusted the dish to fix that. Whilst here he has hooked up the bedroom tv to watch whatever we have on sky so all in all - magic.

Excellent news! I gave up on TV in the bedroom as I would always fall asleep! Mind on some of these cold days and nights, the thought of diving into a snug warm bed to watch TV is very inviting. laugh

Me too Didi!!!! I always fall asleep, but OH usually manages to stay awake to watch the rugby and it is much more comfortable to watch from a nice warm bed than sitting up in the lounge.
Plus we watch a lot of UKTV.
Anything I particularly want to watch, I record in case I fall asleep and miss the end.
