That depends entirely on the size of the glass and how full you fill it. Like asking how long is a piece of string really...........and whether after the first few you forget where you left the bottle.

Two people should be able to drink that wine in one sitting [^] as long as you don't have to drive anywhere afterwards. :D

Did you know, that what you thought I said, was not what I meant :S

As Stikkibeek says. I find that what consider a decent glass is nearly two "standard" drinks! I will have two of those with a meal.

With wine my motto is "whatever suits". If two of you go through one bottle, fine. If two of you go through one and a half bottles, just as good but you will probably feel a lot better! If two of you are going through more than two bottles over the course of an evening, you may just have a wee problem!

Husband and I will always finish a bottle between us, but I make sure I also drink lots of water otherwise I get too dehydrated. Don't want to ever give it up but don't drink every night, um, well maybe 5 nights a week.

Ahhh, my area of expertise.... if you look at the label of any alcoholic beverage you might care to note that it will give you an % of alcohol in the bottle.

Now for most of us wine lovers, we are looking at about 13% which is supposed to be a legal 7.7 glasses out of one 750ml bottle!!![:0][:0]

If you go up to 14% you are supposed to get a legal 8. ?? glasses of wine out of that same 750ml bottle..... [:0][:0][:0]

the basis of this measurement is that 1 serve of alcohol at 13% is 100ml = 1 standard drink. Now if you offered me a legal serve of wine at 100ml I am going to tell you what I think of your serve.... however this is the dilemma facing the hospitality industry because most of us wine lovers are used to drinking about 250ml per glass of wine as ''1 serve''.

Unfortunately its not if we are going to drive....

I fit into that category too and can easily drink 1 bottle per afternoon, I will start with 1 glass (note not one serve as per legal measure) on the deck if its been a pleasurable day and nice weather). I will go and prepare dinner and consume another glass, have one while the lot is cooking and another to consume the meal. there goes the bottle.... and my legal limit if I was so inclined to drive....

It takes (generally speaking) 1 hour for our livers to process 1 legal serve of alcohol.... hunger, gender, mood, medication etc affect our consumption of grog.

personally I love drinking a nice pale chardy and just wish there was some way to reduce the % of alcohol so I can justify drinking a bottle to the non drinker in the household....

so there you have how they measure a standard drink and how they calculate how many glasses of wine you should be getting out of 1 x 750ml bottle.

annoying eh.[}:)]
