Blink Blink..... I'm a step-Great Aunt

[:0] ...... ! But I'm not old enough to be anything Great!
I am not my Great Aunt.... see, my Great Aunt, the one I remember most, was like one of those formidable battleships, she had us kids on our best behaivour at first sight. One glimpse of her and manners were first on the list of things to do.

I'm nothing like a battleship (with Victorian ideas) hells bells, I was found under the pool table playing with the train set my cousins son had set up. They came home around 11pm and found me and the two kids having a great time reshaping the track and using those big duplo blocks for houses.... they were supposed to be in bed asleep. But we had a great time and my cousin wasn't that ticked off.... until the next day.

How weird though, being a great aunt... huh...... I have a Great Niece.

Well done Yakut ..... and I know what a huge effort it is .... well, being a great uncle and a grandfather is . Our grand-daughter was 10 days late, so that was quite a worry. Obviously the DIL has long-gestation genes, so that reduces her productivity a bit. But the niece-in-law gave birth at 28 weeks to a son, so that is a mark for her productivity score .... but the baby was only about 1200 grams.

She has a name now, Sophie. She was 7lbs 11 ozs..... Mum was transfered from their local hospital to Chch for a bit of help when things got jammed up but they are both well. I've seen photos, she's a wee dot!

Eh eh eh..... and my little sister is a step Nana Yee haaaa! They also have about 12 inches of snow everywhere. Sophie picked the first snowfall in 5 years to be born during LOL.

Isn't it fun - being a Great Aunt I also have a great niece whom I shall get to meet in a couple of weeks when they all head down this way for a ski holiday. Really looking forward to it.

With Great Aunt you can have the best fun ever - (speaking from experience) they don't tell you off as other rele's do, and when you're at parties hiding under the table they will join you, wine glass and all......mmmm Great Aunties are Fab
