Seeing as we are talking about books recently, thought I would throw another one into the mix.
I was given the above titled book for Xmas. It is of course about Sir Patrick Hogan and I really enjoyed it. I had a wee cry when it came to the part about Sir Tristram's passing. Patrick's wife sounds a bit of a character and the story of her favourite mare "accidentally" getting pregnant was a laugh. Overall it was just a great story. Also reading about all the great horses helped me enjoy it more as I have always been an avid racehorses follower.
I read it over Xmas, found it a bit boring when it got into all the politics of racing but the story of the early days, and the stories of Sir Tristram and Zabeel were great. I still wonder how much he paid for Zabeel.
